Broadcast Journalism

Most of my broadcast journalism experience comes from middle school when I was on my school's television crew... if I did TV today, I definitely would've changed some things, but I am still proud of the work I did. I also am still very involved in narrative filmmaking and screenwriting.

My work with the multimedia section

Based on an idea I got from talking to the advisor of The Blueprint at Camp Orlando,  we assigned each multimedia staffer a piece of "reoccurring content", or something they would complete biweekly. The idea behind this choice was to help teach the multimedia staffers and to have something that students can come back to see again.

Additionally, I am experienced in Adobe Premiere and help staffers work on their videos.

Middle school broadcast journalism...

Although I did stammer and cut out my voice in the clips of me anchoring, I am also proud of my ability to cover national topics like Angela Davis for women's history month and COVID stimulus checks. It feels so far away now, but I really did learn a lot from 8th grade television: most importantly, that you have to be well informed of something to speak about it.

Of my video journalism work from middle school, I am proud of this package I filmed and produced because it covers a community topic.
