Marketing and Audience Engagement

The idea for this video came over the summer when I was trying to brainstorm how to incorporate the community more with our publication. I wanted to be sure that we reached more students who would be interested in either lighter stories or stories covering their points of interest (opinion, art, or sports). Originally, the draft I received of this video did not match my vision, so I worked with the multimedia editor to make plans to refilm it.

This is a link to a reel my staff created about distribution day. The main goal of this reel was to encourage people to read the issue and to showcase the hard work of the staff.

Business Section and Marketing

In order to earn ad revenue, our staff pitches our advertising space to businesses. In order to be effective in this endeavor, we have our staff practice business scenarios so they can develop their marketing skills.

Here's an example of the thank you notes we send to every sponsor of the publication. These thank you notes are essential to support the audience that supports us and to keep the funding going.

This year, we had a "business stayafter", an opportunity for the staff to pitch to businesses in the community together. This helped provide the courage to raise the funds we need.
